Biography

Marcus Torén, b. 1971, studied for six years at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and graduated as Master of Fine Arts in Church Music and was awarded an organ soloist diploma. Later on he was admitted to the organ education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he in 1999 was awarded Prix d’Orgue. Among the many teachers with whom Marcus Torén studied are Greta Erikson (piano), Rune Engsö, Erik Boström, Michel Bouvard and Olivier Latry (organ).

Marcus Torén gives concerts in Europe and USA and has appeared on the radio in several countries. Since 2002 he also holds a part time position as a teacher at the church musician course at the Geijerskolan in Sweden.

Marcus Torén has made recordings for i.a. IFO-records and Priory-records.
